PEPFAR is making steady progress
The PEPFAR initiative (US Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief) of the American government continues its substantial support to Côte d’Ivoire in the fight against tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS.
For this year 2010, the budget allocated to the management of tuberculosis/HIV co-infection amounts to 3, 350 million dollars, or about 1,507.5 billion FCFA.
On the occasion of World TB Day, on 24 March 2010, the representative of Pepfar in Côte d’Ivoire, Dr Licos, recalled that the financial support of the United States to the Ministry of Health has steadily increased from 560,000 dollars to 4 million dollars.
Côte d’Ivoire remains one of the preferred countries to receive intensive support from the US government.
